Bitter Sweet

This is my last blog although I have enjoyed this wonderful experience I have realized that when you are in school and working full time you must have priorities therefore this is bitter sweet.

I want to thank everyone that took time to read my blog's as I know that some were very sad but I do hope that they touched some of your lives and that you will live, love and laugh.  Respect and value the ones you love and still have with you.  The old saying " You don't know what you have until it's gone" is so true.

Don't wait until you lose someone you love to say I wish I would have done this or that, do it now and have no regrets...Spend time with your wonderful families that God has so graciously bestowed upon you!

Should you continue your blogging "Happy Writing", who knows I may check in with you from time to time. :-)

God Bless

Have you hugged your kid today!

I remember while growing up seeing these bumper stickers that read "Have you hugged your kid today".  People all over had this sticker plastered on their chrome bumpers.  It was a time that awareness to your children and the love you had for them should be shown.  That is when the tide began to change, does anybody else remember that era.

We were at Six Flags Great America when I saw and experienced this bumper sticker for the first time.  My mom and us girls along with a friend of ours and her 3 girls went there to  have a fun day. Pat the mom of these 3 girls all of a sudden said "Have you hugged your kid today?" she started hugging all her girls.  I didn't quit get what she was doing until I saw the bumper sticker and thought "OH" i see now.  I will never forget that day.  I thought that was so precious.

Years later Pat died in a motorcycle accident.  I thought to myself, her kids knew she loved them.  Do your kids know you love them.  Have you hugged your kids today!

Joy Comes In The Morning

Have you ever seen the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding".  Well that is my family. Everything we do evolves around family and food.  The more the merrier.  We eat, we play and we rest.

Remeber that scene in the movie where they are having a celebration.  The door bell rings, mom goes over and answers the door. She opens the door and its kiss-kiss, kids running under and around her into the house.  Parents hugging, and kissing.  It is pure maddness.  Well that is my family and I love it.

One of our favorite holidays is Christmas and thanksgiving.  On Thankgiving we load up our cars and go to West Virgina which is where my oldest sister lives. We start cooking the day before, we cook as many sweets as we can, Like Chocolate Eclair torte, Hawain Delight and Pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting.  My brother in law cooks the turkey on the grill and sometimes in a deep fryer.  We have chicken and dumplings, vegetable casserole, along with majic potatoes.  I have no idea what's in those potatoes, but they disappear like majic. So much more, am I making you hungry yet.

After we get done eating we usually would take a nap.  We are about 32 all together when everyone shows up.  My sister and my brother in law built their house from ground up, he is a carpenter and he built  their house with Thanksgiving in mind.  I am so glad he did.  We have plenty of space, but let me tell you that it wasn't always like that.  They lived in a little 2 bedroom trailer and we still managed to have Thanksgiving dinner together.  The difference is we slept all over the place, floors beds, couches.  You name it.  Where ever their was a open spot, you parked your body.

When your with family it doesn't matter where your at just as long as your together.

It has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with, loosing my mother. You miss the motherly advice, the way mom's love you unconditional, no one will ever love you like your mother.

Memories, what would we do without them, my mom has tons of pictures and video's as she loved taking pictures of family, family was everything to her. Here is one of our last pictures we took together. My sisters, myself and mom. Enjoy!

Life continues

Life continues with that vacant spot but we have memories.  Memories that flood our hearts and minds with emotionally filled happy thoughts. Filling that vacant spot up but not to the top.  We will miss them. Why we must go on and enjoy the one's we still have with us, enjoy the wonderful time we have with our loved ones.  Have you spent special quality time with your mom, dad, siblings friends anyone that is significant in your lives lately or have you put it off for tomorrow, is it a burden or a blast. live, love and laugh.

Posted on several blogs

I enjoyed reading and posting on Antoinette Woods and Johnnie xmass, I also read and posted on several others.  I really enjoyed the reading on my son and I going back to school. I can't find her again though.  Don't know her name.
